Weapon Sets and Attrib Points
Ok, I have done a search and for life of me, I can't see anything that relates to what I am about to suggest.
I'm sure this will be a great idea and would think it would help with grind greatly and some of the furstrations people find when doing this or wanting to do this.
What I suggest is the following.
We have 4 seperate weapon sets that we can set up for our characters. However, for example. One of my characters is an Ele/Mo and I am currently setup as a Fire Ele.
What I would like to be able to do, is setup different Weapon Sets based on the different weapons and skills of my characters and have a set of attribute points for each weapon set.
So, if I want a full on Fire Ele, I can set my Attrib Points to give me a full on Fire Ele, set a second weapon set and make a full on Air ele.
What I would like to be able to do, is set my Weapon Sets and have Attrib Points for each Weapon Set. THis way, I can switch between the weapon sets, try out the different weapons, without having to worry about refund points that often.
Obviously, we only have the same 200 Attrib points across the board but depending on which Weapon Set is used, depends on how the Attrib Points are issued between the skill sets given in that weapon set.
In effect, if we have weapons in Set 1 and all the attrib points have been used, we go into set 2, and we have 200 attrib points available to use for the weapon we wish to use in set 2.
So if you were a warrior, you could go from sword to axe and play around with them without having to worry about moving attrib points around. This would increase the fun factor, enabling people to have more enjoyment out of different skills and weapons sets available and also help people to learn about the different skills a lot more quickly.
Obviously, when going into GvG or PvP, arenas etc the weapon set you choose before you enter is the weapon set you have to play with. There is no changing weapon sets in mid flow. Just like there is no way for you to change the skills after you have entered the gaming zones.
Same goes for Questing and Missions.
At least this way, if you had areas where you just wanted to try different sets out, you go into town, change over weapon set and off you go again. No worries about changing attrib points.
The only reason to have refund points, is if you needed to change the attrib points around, to try different combinations. However, the refund points would stay very similar to what they are now across the board to at least balance it out, or just a few more refund points to go across all 4 weapon sets.
Obviously, one thing I noticed in one thread, was related to having Skills on a Quick list. So, if you have your favourite skills, you click the Skill Set saving you having to go through the whole list choosing skills.
Also, with the above two options, you could lock in certain skill and weapon sets, saving you having to choose the different sets related to your weapon or skills.
Anyway, just my thoughts on helping to improve gameplay and helping people to try out more weapons and skills a lot more easily.

I agree with that this way you could have your sets depending on who you have on your team. I really think it would great to be able to setup my skills and then in the future just pick that set.

What Dirkies is asking for is to be capable of switching your attributes instantly while in the field to augment a weapon set that you have equipped.
The problem is that the way it is suggested essentially ties the weapon sets to the attribute points and removes the ability to swap weapons in the field as we can now. There are too many times that I would want to be able to swap weapons in the field to ask for this change. To make the attributes tied to weapon sets that you can swap would no doubt cause problems and issues in PvP not to say anything of the abuse that would occure.

I disagree, you need to think about what your doing in this game. Manually going through your skills and attributes forces you to do that. If you can't remember what skills worked when last you were in the arena or when you were in FoW maybe stop cutting and pasting builds off the internet. I think this will just dum down the game where people will copy whole libraries of builds off the internet into their toon. We need to maintain some level of intellegence or the game will be dirt real fast. As new players come into the game they wont take the time to learn about skills just get ran though game and copy the guild library into their toon.

That wouldn't work, as you can't change attributes in missions.
Better to be able to save skill sets with attribute point distribution, which you can only switch between in towns. That makes multiple builds more convenient while keeping everything in-mission the same.

I completely agree with the presaved skill sets. Having a w/mo that i use for both missions, farming, and runs, it gets quite annoying having to reset my skills everytime i wanna change what i'm gonna do. Of course, in regards to the att. suggestion, ANET could make a seperate "saved att. settings" seperate to the "saved weapon settings." have it be something that can be enabled in the options menu for those of us that frequently change styles of play. I don't think a lot of programming would be required in this, seeing as how it just saves positioning of numbers, and seeing as how you'll only level up, there won't ever be a negative value of atts available. <--hope that makes sense.
